In 'The Lost World - Jurassic Park', the player goes through a series of side-scrolling levels with the simple goal of reaching the end. There are a variety of dinosaurs to be controlled, as well as two human characters.

Each characters's levels have to be completed before moving on to the next. The playable characters, in order: - Compsognathus - Human hunter - Velocirapter - Tyrannosaurus Rex - Human prey The game can be extremely difficult at times, and this can be a frustrating factor when losing all of your lives and having to restart the entire level.
