Microsoft gaming reclusa backlight

This back lighting makes a big difference when your playing in a dark room. In the picture below you can see the keyboard lit up and thats in a room that was completely dark.

I was impressed that I could still see and read the letters on the keyboard keys no problem at all. Up next is the Razor Hyperesponse gaming key action and with this I can't say I noticed any difference with this keyboard over any other keyboard I have used with first person shooters. To me this keyboard seems to respond like all the other keyboards do in terms of response times when it comes to key presses. Now onto the Customizable Gaming controls. For me this is a mixed bag on one hand you do have 10 buttons that you can program with macro's and thats a good thing however they are missing some important things.

The first thing I have a problem with is the fact there are only 10 keys and 2 jog dials that can be programmed. I'm puzzled as to why this whole keyboard wasn't made so that every key on the thing could be programmed or setup with macro's.

Also in terms of complexity the macros you can setup are to simplified for example you are stuck with fixed values for your delays that you can then put into your macros. The fixed delays may work for some stuff but I know I have messed with macros in the past and some times you have to get very precise about how long a delay should be in order to get a macro to work right.

Along with the delay problem I don't see any way at all to make the macros be able to emulate any mouse buttons. What Microsoft needs to do is look at how the Belkin N50 and N52 speed pads work. With the Belkin speed pads you have a macro section that is light years ahead of what comes with this keyboard. The Belkin software is setup so that you can insert any type of delay you want and there are no set values you have to use. Also with the Belkin software you can assign mouse buttons to the macro or to a key on the speed pad.

Other problems I see with the customizable keys on this keyboard is the l4, l5, r4, r5 buttons are all flush with the surface of the keyboard. These buttons are also too close together as well. This keyboard isn't really for anyone looking to make a ridiculous amount of macros since it only has 10 of them 14 if you count the jog wheels.

But it does the job for the gamer who isn't too hardcore. It's really a good all around keyboard. I can definitely see myself being able to do some gaming and some work programming, assignments, school work, etc. Cons: Microsoft logo is huge. Can't turn off backlights. Pros: Silent keys, nice style. Lots of macro buttons. Comfortable wrist rest. Comment: If you're like me and don't really care who makes your keyboard there are a lot of microsoft haters out there , this is a decent keyboard given the price.

Comes with a bunch of configurable buttons which are also preset depending on the application your using i. Winamp recognizes every button. Overall a nice solid keyboard. This review was modfied by poster PM. Cons: Can't adjust lighting Pros: Very nice lookingStandard layout.

Comment: I ordered this keyboard along with a MS Habu mouse; they look amazing along side my super lanboy case all glowing blue. They keyboard is very nice looking and the keys are silent. It is very sturdy and heavy; it stays in place. It's doesn't feel cheap at all. Comment: Awesome keyboard classic and very smooth. I recommend over those logitech spaceship orange gamer keyboards.

Simple interface. Cons: Usually not on sale Pros: looks, soft keys. Comment: What i really like about this keyboard is the palm rest and the very soft keys. Another function that i tend to use a lot now is the volume controls right on the keyboard. I no longer have to reach for my speakers. Cons: have not tested the programming, so nil so far.

Also, the key presses are relatively very silent. It has some accessory function keys like opening mail, home page web browser, and others I have not explored at this time.

Not too many or a bunch of fancy extra function keys that clutter up your board. Long story short: I love this thing. Overall Review: I am an avid gamer, but the real reason I bought this keyboard is for work. My job is transcribing medical reports, so I am always looking for that "special" keyboard that is both of standard format dimensions, no crazy ergonomic curves, etc.

This keyboard does just that. Pros: The keyboard looks amazing the blue back lights look really cool all the keys work the wrist rest feels awesome, the two knobs are a little loose but nothing major. Overall Review: This keyboard beats the heck out my old one. My old one came with my comp which sucks and i am in love with this keyboard. BUY IT!!!!! Pros: The keys are stick at first, but thats usual. Backlighting for a keyboard under 60 bucks is nice.

I was a Logitech guy but had to switch to microsoft. Cons: The volume knob is kinda silly, I have to turn it in about 4 full circles just to raise the volume a bit. It might be more scalable with the software but I've read that it messes up ur board if u install it with vista so I didn't. Overall Review: My last keyboard got syrup on it. Eggos 4tl. It's ok to get dirt cuz u can remove the keys, but i think outside of superglue, syrup is death to keyboards.
